Lubricating In-mast furling

Lubricating/cleaning Selden in-mast furling winch is best achieved by removing winch mechanism. To do this first undo lock retaining screw to free locking tube which can then be slid upward. This will allow threaded foil tensioner to be unwound to the point where drive pin (held in place by spilt pin) can be removed & drive disconnected. 8 cross head screws (4 above, 4 below winch) can then be undone to allow removal of mechanism. An impact drive set can be used to encourage these large screws to undo. After replacement, tension foil so that it just hits sides of mast when shaken hard, comensurate with no excessive stiffnes when operating winch.
