NEW 60CS At the Southampton & Dusseldorf Shows in 2005 and January 2006 Contest officially announced the latest CS’ a 60 footer scheduled for delivery from 2007 onwards. Details on CWM and yard sites. As at May 2006 three were already on order.
NEW 45CS
In April 2005 the yard announced a new model, the 45CS. This is basically a Mk2 version of the 44CS with new rig, new rudder & more layout options, including a 3rd side cabin. Good news is that the price is about €80,000 less than the 44CS due to improved production engineering. The boat was shown at Ijmuiden and at the Southampton Iinternational Boat Show for the first time in September 2005
NEW MDs
Contest Yachts has always been a family business and in January 2004 the third generation, in the shape of Arjen Conijn, took over as Managing Director. Fritz Conijn retains a strong, though not full-time, involvement. Not entirely unconnected with Arjen’s arrival was the launch of a new identity for Contest Yachts and the dropping of the old, and to some confusing, Conyplex parent company. There is also new literature for all current models. Arjen was Joined in January 2005 by Joint MD Marcel Borgman who had previously run Contest Brokerage and now has responsibility for Contest Domestic and German New Sales and all Brokerage.
AFTER SALES CHANGES
From now on all after sales for the initial owner of a new Contest will be handled directly by Contest via Ton de Jong, regardless of how long you have owned the boat from new. As before all support for used boats is via Medemblik Yacht
